March GLADness–Make it a SLAM DUNK!

March GLADness–Make it a SLAM DUNK!

“Did you fill out your bracket?”
My youngest son bounced into the kitchen,
waving a piece of paper.

“My bracket?” I asked, totally confused.

“For March Madness!” My son said, pacing the
floor in nervous anticipation.

“Oh, ummm, no,” I said, shaking my head.

“Why not? March Madness starts
TOMORROW!”
he gasped, horrified that
I did not have my bracket done.

There were just a few problems:
I really only know 1 team (Go Badgers!)
I really don’t follow college basketball…
like NOT. AT. ALL.
I really don’t understand how the
whole bracket thing works.

“So, who are you going to pick…
who’s the top dog…winning it all?” he asked,
eyes glowing with the anticipation and
excitement of practically endless possibilities.

“I’ll have to give that a little more
thought,”
 I chuckled, really thinking
(I’m going to have to Google that!)

“Well, think quick and pick good teams!  Remember, March
Madness starts TOMORROW!”
he yelled as he
bounded down to the family room to undoubtedly
check some more stats.

MARCH MADNESS.

In college basketball, it’s a time of:
Shocks and Upsets,
Underdogs taking down top-seeded teams,
Unknowns besting reigning champs.
A time of truly, unlimited possibilities.

It made me think of my business:
A small business competing with
larger, more established businesses.

What about you?
What does March Madness look like
for your business?
Are your shots at business success
bouncing off target?

Are you missing that swish of
exhilaration, when your marketing
hits the perfect potential client–
instead stumbling over client rejection
that actually has NOTHING to do with
you OR your business?

Are you running wild, doing all kinds of
crazy stuff just trying to score points with
your clients?
And still falling short?

Let’s not shoot a free throw…
Or take a chance with a 3 pointer.
Let’s make it a slam dunk!

Ready to shake things up a bit and
make your business a champion
for your clients?

Here’s how:

5 MUST-HAVE Goals to Score a
SLAM DUNK for your business!

1. Schedule DAILY marketing time
Do you set aside time every single
day
to focus on marketing your business?

No?
You’re not alone!
For so many small businesses and solopreneurs
marketing is the very last thing on the “to-do” list–
and yet it is the lifeblood of your business!

“But I don’t have time to market! I have a
business to run!”
Did I say that aloud or was it you?
No matter.
We all feel that way–at some time or
another (or maybe ALL the time!)

Marketing doesn’t have to take ALL your time–
but it does need to take SOME of your time.
So schedule it!
Just like any other appointment.

Schedule 15, 30, 45 minutes each day
to focus on promoting your business.
It’s the fastest way to get to
the championship bracket!

2.  Choose ONE thing
What ONE THING would help your
business the MOST?
Do that.

It’s tempting to do:
a little marketing,
a little networking,
a little social media,
a little community involvement.

Don’t do that!
A little ends up being
a whole lot LESS!
Consistency is KEY!

Just choose one.
Facebook.
A Newsletter.
Instagram.
LinkedIn.
A blog.

Commit to mastering
just that one thing–
be engaged,
be consistent,
be intentional in your focus
and goals.

THAT’S your slam dunk!

3. Positive Mindset
“Whether you think you can,
or think you can’t, you’re right.¹”
Thank you, Henry Ford, for
reminding us that Mindset Matters!

Positive Mindset is WAY more than
just thinking happy thoughts.
It is the true foundation to a
successful business…
and life!

Thinking positive has a whole
host of health benefits ranging from
decreased stress to increased immunity
for illnesses².

But guess what?
positive mindset also creates:
greater confidence in your abilities,
increased resilience with challenging situations,
and improved coping skills for setbacks².

So make yours count–and score big points
for your business!

4. Celebrate your WINS
New client? Celebrate!
Completed a training? Celebrate!
Posted to your blog? Celebrate!
Connected on LinkedIn? Celebrate!

No matter how big or small an
achievement is, make sure to
CELEBRATE!

Intentionally acknowledging that
you did something positive to
move your business forward,
increases motivation,
improves dedication,
boosts morale,
and makes you want to
DO MORE POSITIVE THINGS!

WIN-WIN!

Let’s Celebrate!

5. Down Time
Your business is only as
strong as the person running it!

So how are you feeling?
A little tired?
Emotionally drained?
Completely Exhausted?

Me, too!

When’s the last time you
TOOK A BREAK?

Seriously.

Whether it’s ten minutes
or two hours…
Just step away.
You’ll come back
more energetic,
more focused,
and more productive.

It will be time well spent!

Your business is worth it
Your clients are worth it.
YOU are worth it!

Game Over!

So, what do you think?
Are you ready to play some serious ball–
to stop watching from the sidelines and
really get in the game?

Let’s do it!

Let’s stop blindly rebounding–
just throwing your business
ball around aimlessly…hoping it sinks
into your marketing hoop.

Instead, commit to 5 focused goals…
Five goals that will bring clarity, positivity
and self-care
 to your business–
and your life!

Go ahead, transform your March Madness
into March GLADness!

Make it a SLAM DUNK!

See you on the trail,
