About

Looking for a Health and Wellness Copywriter who truly understands your business?

YOU FOUND HER!

Hi!

I’m Elizabeth and I have a deep passion for writing–all types of writing! I love working with small health and wellness companies, helping them connect to their clients, share information, and grow their businesses–all through the written word!

I’m also a physical therapist with over twenty years experience in a variety of health care settings. My unique experience as both a skilled copywriter and a physical therapist makes me the ideal person to write content and marketing materials for health and wellness companies. I know and understand the ins-and-outs of the healthcare world and I understand being pulled in multiple directions every day—balancing the mountain of paperwork and required duties while spending quality time with your clients.

As a therapist, I treat the WHOLE patient and now, as a copywriter, I can do the same for YOUR business!

MY WRITING JOURNEY…

Ever since I was a young child, I was always writing—chasing the dream of someday becoming an author. My free time was spent writing poems, stories, plays, even letters to family members.

As I grew up, my writing grew, too. I was continually learning, refining and polishing my craft as I chased that dream of publication.

When I became a Physical Therapist, my writing changed yet again—factual, narrative, informational, technical—the therapy world called for all that and more.

While my writing had expanded to encompass all my “professional” therapy writing, I was still writing and publishing numerous stories with Guide Magazine and two stories in Chicken Soup for the Soul books. I began writing my middle grade children’s fiction series (I am currently working on book three in the series and seeking a reputable literary agent!)

The more writing I did, the more writing I WANTED to do!

After working with the Blue Zones Project of Dodge County on a community wellness initiative, my writing once again expanded to include press releases, Facebook posts, feature stories, and newsletter articles. And I liked it all! So much so, that I decided to pursue copywriting as a career. I completed multiple classes and courses in a variety of different copywriting areas including web writing, SEO, social media, Website analysis and email. But it was when I finished an extremely comprehensive E-Newsletter course that I was truly hooked. THIS WAS IT!

I could FINALLY take my love of writing and combine it with my extensive knowledge as a physical therapist and help healthcare businesses meet their customer’s needs, build relationships, and GROW–all through written communication!

So I did.

I’m a WRITER…and a RUNNER!

I have ALWAYS been a writer—literally for as long as I can remember. Writing was that ONE THING I just couldn’t quit—no matter how many times I tried! Likewise, I grew up with a dad who was a successful runner (a year ago, at 75, he only survived quadruple bypass heart surgery because he was a runner.  And, yes, he’s back running today :)) My mom started running at age 40 AFTER back surgery, becoming an All-American at age 55 in the 400 meter run. Growing up, my brother and sister also ran competitively.  And now my three kids are all successful runners. Running is as natural a part of my life as writing is…or breathing 🙂

  • Throughout a successful high school and collegiate running career, I was a writer
  • Throughout a successful physical therapy career, I was a writer and a runner
  • After undergoing bilateral leg surgery at age eighteen and, in later years, weathering a significant shut-the-running-dream-down injury for 2.5 years, I was still a writer—a writer determined to run again!
  • The two great constants in my life have ALWAYS been running and writing!

WHY RED RUNNING SHOE PUBLICATIONS?

Red Running Shoe Publications was born when I FINALLY decided to take that burning, can’t-give-it-up mentality and do two things: 1) Keep running! and 2) Let my writing help health and wellness companies build their businesses by deepening relationships and connecting with their clients—outside the clinic! I started Red Running Shoe Publications because:

  • I wanted a company that would honor both my running and my writing.
  • I wanted a company that would encompass the qualities that drive my life: dedication, determination, loyalty, perseverance, honesty, and a never-give-up attitude.
  • I wanted a company that could represent ALL the different types of writing I do.

Can you believe I’ve never owned a pair of Red Running Shoes?

It’s true!

But that’s ok. When I am running free, writing ideas swirling around in my head, I am living the vision of Red Running Shoe Publications and THAT’S really all that matters.

But you can bet I’m always on the lookout for that magical pair of Red Running Shoes! 🙂
